As the Military History Research Centre (Aust.) has evolved in the last fifteen years, we have added further strings to the bow through our range of gilding services and a limited range of artefact conservation services. The gilding of picture frames commenced in 2016 as an internal project as we prepared our art collections for future exhibition. That work expanded to undertaking external work, by request, for individuals who desired to have the portrait (paintings and photographs) cleaned and mounted in gilded frames, then to gilding small busts, plates and article of furniture. We also provide limited services for the conservation of your family artefacts, particularly, those of paper, leather and digitising.
