about us

Formed in December 2005, the Military History Research Centre (Aust.) consists of a team of researchers and historians dedicated to the provision of research services, traditionally, to the domestic and commercial markets. It specialises in documenting (profiling) the service histories (Army, Naval, Air Force and Medical) of those who have fought in European and Continental American wars, from the Napoleonic period to the end of the Vietnam War. The profiles are a factual study of the subject’s activities, whether in the front line, in a supporting role or Home Defence, of those who fought and died, fought and returned or simply disappeared, never to be found.

The MHRC enjoys of a long history of assisting family genealogist in the research of a forebear who had served in a war or campaign between 1794, the beginning of the Napoleonic period and 1975, the end of the Vietnam War. The result is a document of varied sizes (30-60 A4 pages) bound in a hard-back cover with gilt titles. That research assistance extends to teachers and student who wish to document those nominated on local memorials or who lie in their local cemetery.

The MHRC capabilities have evolved to providing a research service (desk-top and field research) to larger consultancies, property development organisations, agricultural interests, local councils and commercial interests that require data relating to the past and present military use of land. The service is tailored to the specific needs of a customer and may involve the engagement of qualified third parties, where required. The subject matter, range and scope of such research may vary from case to case, although it should be noted that he MHRC does not offer or participate in any form of site remediation
